The Start - v1.0

introupe was originally conceived and developed by a secondary school in the UK. Initially it was developed purely for their use and to improve certain administrative tasks within the school by embracing technology.

The Next Step - v2.0

Due to changes within the school, and the links between local primary schools and secondary schools, the school decided to improve on the Intranet solution and deploy it across all of these schools.

This deployment turned out to be very successful, so was setup to license the solution to any other school that wished to purchase it.

New Direction - v2.1+ & 2010

The ownership of the intranet solution was transferred to ANB Software Ltd, who continued to distribute and develop the system for schools. However, there was also an increase in interest from small businesses. So new features and modules were added to meet the requirements of these new customers.

New Foundations - v3.0

Since the release of 2010 we have been hard at work with various customers and potential customers to improve on the features, modules, scalability, and compatibilities of all aspects of the system.

Due to this the long term goal is to make the system be able to operate on either Windows or Linux. A lot of time has been spent in redeveloping the core of the system to make it easy to create or port modules to work on either Windows or Linux. This redevelopment includes:

  • An SDK for developers to create their own modules
  • Choose whichever database server you wish to use
  • PHP v5.3 support
  • Licensing moved to web
  • Multiple client installations on a single server, i.e. for web hosts

New modules are also in development after having discussions with various customers. These include a telephone directory, planner, surveys, polls, sales manager, license manager, finance manager, online accident book, and product development manager.

Existing modules will also be updated. For example, personalised calendars and various improvements to CMS.

And finally, some modules that have been developed but never been released will also be made available due to customer requests. These indlude team leader, work experience manager, and room booking (standard edition).

The main base system will be released when ready. Then some of the new modules and module updates will follow when they are ready.
